Build a website in pure HTML!
Web Builders is where technology, creativity and your child’s passions intersect.

Develop a website at Web Builders

Your child will create their very own website about their favourite animal, movie or any topic of their choice! They’ll walk away with a website that they have built from scratch, along with a newfound understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. This is one of our most creative camps ever where your child is fully in control of the end product!

Due to the amount of typing required at this camp, it's recommended that students be fairly confident with keyboards.

Day One

Your website building journey begins!

Web Builders kicks off with kids learning the basics of
web-building and webpage structures. We'll focus on embedding content frames, images, linking pages, and more.

Then we introduce CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets, which describes how HTML elements are displayed on screen - a key element of desiging a website.

Starting from scratch, students will build a website on a topic of their choice using pure HTML, CSS & JavaScript!

Day Two

Bring your website to life!

On Day Two we will delve further into designing our website and will teach all the tips and tricks of the trade.

We will add all important navigation menus to our sites and introduce JavaScript, the language of the web!

We also discuss eSafety and how important it is to stay safe online.

Day Three

Get ready to launch your new website!

Today we'll do a site review, add some simple JavaScript games, and add video content to our websites.

We'll introduce bootstrap (complex CSS), charts, and Google Maps.

We end with an awards ceremony, recognising each child’s creative achievements and a showcase of some of the websites created.

FAQs

What is the structure of a day at camp?

Each day is divided into 1.5 - 2 hour sessions of fun, creative learning with three breaks for crunch & sip, recess and lunch so the kids can have outside play (weather allowing).

What time is drop off and pick-up time?

Drop-off is from 9:00-9:30 am and pick-up is 3:30-4:00 pm. At selected venues we offer extend hours from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm - this availability will be visible at the booking page.

Does my child need to bring a device?

Students are welcome to bring their own laptop from home, but if that’s not possible, the vast majority of our Web Builders locations offer laptop hire. Details regarding laptop hire can be found on our enrolment form, otherwise get in touch and we'll be happy to confirm options in your area.

What should I pack in my child's bag each day?

We recommend bringing a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and a nut-free packed crunch and sip, recess, and lunch.

How many kids are in each class?

We have some of the best student-teacher ratios to ensure every child has a positive experience. Most of our classes are capped at 28 students with a 1:8 teacher-student ratio.

Do they have to have prior experience?

Most holiday camps are suitable for absolute beginners. Ignite requires a basic understanding of drag & drop coding, while kids attending Blast 3D and Web Builders need to be proficient at line coding.

Can I stay with my child?

Our camps are well staffed and we do not have parents stay for the day. If there is a particular reason that you’d like to attend, please get in contact with us to discuss.

Do you cater for special needs?

Whilst we do not run programs specifically designed to cater for students with special needs, our aim is to be as inclusive as possible. If your child attends a mainstream school and is comfortable in a classroom environment, they are welcome to attend. We will ask about their needs at enrolment. We are unable to provide 1:1 support, however if your child has a support worker they may attend with them. Please contact us to discuss your child’s individual needs.

My child is younger than the specified age, can they attend? Can my younger child attend with an older sibling?

If a child is within 3 months of the recommended age, for most of our programs it is up to the parent to determine if the child is capable. Our camps are structured for the specified age range and with 1:8 ratios, so one on one support for a younger child will not be available. Unless the child is displaying maturity levels and academic capabilities of an older child, we don’t recommend it however feel free to contact us at hello@codecamp.com.au to discuss what's suitable for your child.

Do you offer a sibling discount?

When you enrol your child, you will receive a referral code which can be used to save $20 off your sibling booking.
