Day One

Your coding journey begins

Today we're going to be learning how to code with the help of DreamWorks Trolls! We'll start by learning about conditionals and collisions - two important elements of basic coding. We'll learn these concepts through age-appropriate explanations and fun real life scenarios, demos, games, and dances. Then we'll apply this knowledge using simplified drag and drop coding blocks to develop a game within our bespoke learning platform, Code Camp World. We'll have so much fun designing our own DreamWorks Trolls game that we won't even realise how much we're learning!

Day Two

Coding fundamentals mastered!

Today we will continue learning the fundamentals of coding, with a focus on loops and variables and apply those concepts to our drag and drop coding blocks within some cool new Dreamworks Trolls games in Code Camp World. Once we finish our games, it’s time to have fun playing them together as a group. By the end of Little Coders - Trolls Edition, kids will have a whole new set of skills and experience. We'll cap off the day with a graduation ceremony to celebrate our achievements.

FAQs

What is the structure of a day at camp?

Each day is divided into 1.5 - 2 hour sessions of fun, creative learning with three breaks for crunch & sip, recess and lunch so the kids can have outside play (weather allowing).

What time is drop off and pick-up time?

Drop-off is from 9:00-9:30 am and pick-up is 3:30-3:45pm. At selected venues we offer extend hours from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm - this availability will be visible at the booking page.

Does my child need to bring anything to camp?

Little Coders: Trolls Edition requires children to bring their own tablet to camp. Please note, Code Camp doesn't offer tablet hire.

What should I pack in my child's bag each day?

We recommend bringing a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and a nut-free packed crunch and sip, recess, and lunch.

How many kids are in each class?

We have some of the best student-teacher ratios to ensure every child has a positive experience. Most of our classes are capped at 28 students with a 1:8 teacher-student ratio.

Do they have to have prior experience?

Most of our camps are are suitable for absolute beginners. Ignite requires a basic understanding of drag & drop coding, while kids attending Blast 3D and Web Builders need to be proficient at line coding.

Can I stay with my child?

Our camps are well staffed and we do not have parents stay for the day. If there is a particular reason that you’d like to attend, please get in contact with us to discuss.

Do you cater for special needs?

Whilst we do not run programs specifically designed to cater for students with special needs, our aim is to be as inclusive as possible. If your child attends a mainstream school and is comfortable in a classroom environment, they are welcome to attend. We will ask about their needs at enrolment. We are unable to provide 1:1 support, however if your child has a support worker they may attend with them. Please contact us to discuss your child’s individual needs.

My child is younger than the specified age, can they attend? Can my younger child attend with an older sibling?

If your 4-year-old is currently doing their foundation year of school and is within 1 month of turning 5 at the time of camp, then they are welcome to join us. If your child hasn't started school yet then unfortunately they are too young for these programs however we would love to see them when they are a little older.

Founder Year = Kindergarten (NSW and ACT), Preparatory or Prep (Queensland, Victoria, and Tasmania), Reception (South Australia), Pre-Primary (Western Australia), and Transition (Northern Territory).

Do you offer a sibling discount?

When you enrol your child, you will receive a referral code which can be used to save $20 off your sibling booking.
